Happy Little Girl

Claire is very pleased that she crawls with ease now and able to sit up on her own. We now have to really watch her- as she gets to the other side of the room or to the door in a flash. Tonight she was looking at the stairs like she is contemplating her next challenge.

She locks her legs firm when she gets a chance to try out standing. She isn't pulling herself up yet on her own. She is going to be a early walker though.

With all this activity Claire is eating like a pig. She seems to try a new table food daily. She chomped on Cheerios for the first time today.

She's already got a big head

Claire had her 9 month doctor's appointment today. She seems to be very healthy after a rough winter. She is a chubby little baby ( at least bigger than Alley) - she weighs in at 19lbs 2 oz which is the 51% percentile. Alley was mostly in the 30% percentile. Alley didn't hit the magical weight of 20lbs at one year old - so that we would be able to turn the car seat around. Claire looks like she is well on her way to getting there by her first birthday. The pediatrician was surprised to see how big of a head she has though - she is in the 96% for head circumference. She made the nurse measure it twice. Alley also seemed to have a disproportionate large head. The funny thing is neither of them look abnormal to me. They don't seem to have huge pumpkin heads. I at least hope the big head stereotype is true that they will be brainy kids.

CLAIRE CAN SLEEP ANYWHERE

Claire has decided that anywhere is a good place to go to sleep. If her bed time rolls around (7:30 pm) that is it. In the last two days she fell asleep in the yard on a blanket and the middle of the floor while playing.

ALL HOPPED UP

Claire loves to hop up and down in the bouncy chair. She will literally bounce for a half an hour straight. I think she will have very strong legs.

CLAIRE HELPS WITH DSL INSTALL

After a short time without home Internet, Claire installed the new DSL modem last night. The city of Saint Louis Park shut down their solar powered Wi-Fi network after to many technical problems and delays. Unfortunately that was our Internet service. Here Claire is unpacking the box.

Claire did a good job adjusting the antennas on the Wi-Fi router. Good Job Claire now all the computers get a good signal for the Internet.

Having Fun

Claire discovered that there is another baby in the house that looks just like her. They took a bath together today and she was pretty happy about this.

Claire and the other little baby discovered splashing and then couldn't stop. ( I remember her older sister making the same discovery)

Claire also discovered the Excersaucer. She is so excited to jump up and down, spin around and play with all the toys.

Trying to Crawl

Claire has gotten up on all fours and rocks back and forth - but doesn't propel herself forward yet. I am sure she'll get the hang of it soon.

Claire is home with me this week, as I am on vacation. She caught yet another bug - so she has been fussy - not her normal sweet self.
